Happy Holidays, everyone! Yes, it’s that time of the month where we share with you one of our beloved recipes. This month it is our Pear Ginger Crumb Tart! The coolest thing about this tart is that the pie shell can be used in any format such as tart, pie pan, mini, etc. Have fun with this one and please let us know how it goes!

Ingredients

Crumb Topping

  • 2/3 cup – Flour (can be gluten free if needed)
  • 1/2 cup – Oats
  • 1/2 cup – Brown Sugar
  • 1/4 tsp. – Sea Salt
  • 1/3 cup – Cold, Unsalted Butter (cut into pieces)

Filling

  • 3.5 lbs – Pears, rough chop
  • 1.5 tblsp. – Cornstarch
  • 0.5 tsp. – Salt
  • 0.25 cup – brown sugar
  • 0.25 cup – Sugar
  • 0.25 cup – Maple Syrup
  • 1 tblsp. – Lemon Juice
  • 0.25 tsp. – Cardamom, ground
  • 0.25 tsp. – Ginger, ground
  • 2 tblsp. – Candied Ginger

Misc. Items

  • 1 each – Unbaked Pie Shell of Choice

Directions

Crumb Topping

  • Mix all ingredients for topping with forks and/or clean fingers

Filling

  • Pre-heat oven to 350ºF
  • Mix all ingredients together
  • Weigh out 1.75 lbs of filling into a 9″ UNBAKED Pie Shell
  • Sprinkle with Crumb Topping Recipe
  • Bake for approx. 1 hour or until topping is golden brown

Yields: Two pies
